Tata Electronics plans to set up two more semiconductor fabs in Dholera, Gujarat. The first phase, costing an estimated 91,000 INR-Crore, involves a partnership with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC).
The next phase of Tata Electronics in Dholera is expected to begin in five to seven years.
The first fab, projected to start producing chips by 2026, will determine the course of the next fabs. These two new fabs are planned to be on the same scale as the initial one. Moreover, once the first fab reaches full capacity, the company will decide on the technology and nodes based on global demand and advancements in the semiconductor industry.
