Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) recently welcomed U.S. Consul General Mike Hankey and his team for an insightful visit to India’s pioneering smart city project. The visit was marked by productive discussions between the U.S. delegation, officials from the Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL), and members of the GSEM team, who shared Dholera’s forward-thinking approach to sustainable urban development.
The U.S. Consul General’s agenda included a deep dive into the ambitious efforts underway at Dholera SIR, with a particular focus on infrastructure and the development of India’s semiconductor industry. Mr. Hankey engaged in substantive talks with representatives from Tata Electronics, which is spearheading India’s first semiconductor fabrication facility at Dholera SIR. Alongside these discussions, Mr. Hankey visited several key infrastructure sites integral to Dholera’s vision of becoming a smart, sustainable city. These included the Torrent Power substation and the ReNew manufacturing unit, which exemplify Dholera’s commitment to renewable energy integration and resilient infrastructure.
